WHAT HAPPEN BETWEEN FEBRUARY AND MAY 2010.
1. On the 9th february, 2010 the senate passed a motion that vice president should be acting president in the absence of president Yar'dub
2. On the 10th february, 2010, jonathan Goodluck assumed office as acting president.
3. 6th of may Yar'dua died in power
4. On the 7th may, 2010, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan was sworn in after the death of his predecessor.
5. Goodluck Jonathan sworn in as 14th president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
On the 15th of May 2010, Goodluck Jonathan chose his vice president Alh. Namadi Sambo.
18th May 2010 the vice president Namadi was sworn in by President Goodluck Jonathan.

BRIEF HISTORY OF GOODLUCK JONATHAN

BRIEF HISTORY OF GOODLUCK JONATHAN.
Goodluck Ebele Azikwe Jonathan, the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Was born on the 20th November, 1957 by Mr.& Mrs Ebele Jonathan, a native of Otuoke in Ogba local area of Bayelsa State Nigeria. 
His parent were very humble and diligent his paternal grandmother nicknamed him AZIKWE because of his intelligent and strenght during his childhood.
As a young man he started his carrier at St. Stephen primary school(now state school otuoke). In 1969 at the age of 12, he proceeded to St. Michael primary School- Oloibiri, where he complete his elementary education.
In 1971, he further his education at MASTER DEI HIGH SCHOOL-imiringi, and by 1975,he sat for West Africa School Certificate, passing out with a distinction. His leadership started while he was in secondary school,while he was in form three . In 1973, he was appointed as class prefect and secretary of the food committee, and administrative body of hostel master and senior student. He occupied the position up to form four. He is the prime prefect of masterson house, he later exalted to the office of chairman and also committee of prefect. In 1975-1977, he secured a job as preventive officer in the department of customs and excise. He also secured admission into the department of zoology and a pioneer student of the newly established university of port Harcourt. In 1981, he bagged a Bachelor of Science degree, graduating with a second class honours(upper Division). As a corps, Goodluck Jonathan served Nigeria as a humble Classroom teacher at Iresi between 1981 and 1982, a community in Oyo state, now in Osun state, after his service, he was invited for a teaching appointment by the old river state civil service commission in 1982 Because of his brilliant performance at the interview he was appointed a science inspector of Education in the Ministry of Education. In 1983, Goodluck jonathan left the mainstream Civil service for the college of Education where he took up an appointment as an academic in the Department of Biology. He was also elected as the representative of congress in the senior staff appointment and promotion committee, he held the position till 1993 when he left. He again enrolled for a post graduate programme in he university of port Harcourt. He bagged a well deserved Master of science (M.Sc) degree in Hydro-Biology and fisheries. Also bagged Doctor of philosophy in zoology in 1985 & 1995 respectively. More so, in march 1993, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan later picked an appointment as an Assistant director in the defunct oil mineral producing areas development Commission (OMPADEC).He was deployed to the directorate of Environment Protection and Pollution Control where he was directing the affairs of the Environment protection sub-department. Also, his dedication to service, eventful life devoted entirely to humanity and monumental achievements as an accomplished leader earned him the "BEST performing Deputy Governor Award in the Federation.In 2002, by the institute of public Administration of Nigeria (IPAN). Similarly, the National Association of women in Education Development further honour him with the Award of "Exemplary Leadership Quality and Good Governance" in july 2003. In further recognition of his dedication to service, the NUJ Abuja Council conferred on him a prestigious Honorary Award for Democracy and Good governance.
A humane administrator, amazingly simply minded and loved by his people, friend and colleagues, nobodx ever expected he will venture into the dicey and precarious nature of Nigeria politics. Nevertheless. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan saw the need to boost the socio-economic with political interest of the provision of social infrastructure. Hence, he took to politics in the Fourth Republic and pitched his tent with the people democratic party (PDP).He was picked as the running mate to the party flag bearer to Chief D.S.P Alamieyeseigha. The duo emerged victorious as the polls in the 1999 gubernatorial election, and so, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan became the first Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State. After a successful tenure, Dr. Jonathan repeated the feat where he led Chief D.S.P Alamieyeseigha Campaign machinery popularly called ALAMCO. By the grace of God and the desire for Bayelsans to have a good government the duo won the gubernatorial elections again, in 2003. And Goodluck Jonathan is thus, serving as a deputy Governor for a second tenure. Dr. Goodluck Jonathan was happily married to Mrs. Dame Patience Faka Jonathan. The nuptial union is blessed with two children.
